Dalilah Bloom Botanical print Tile
Dalilah Bloom Botanical print Tile
The Aztecs raised and wildcrafted various species of dahlia for its edible tubers, as medicine and for its hollow stems which were used for water pipes.
The Dahlia is named for the Swedish botanist Anders Dahl. The name Dahl sounds like the Swedish word for “valley” so Dahlia may mean something like “valley flower”.
Dahlia flowers symbolize beauty, commitment, and kindness. They’re also tied to steadfastness, due to their ability to bloom after many other flowers have died.
Such a noble and elegant flower can be used in workings for dignity and grace but also to allow us to stand tall and be proud of our achievements.
It can help in magic for self-esteem and respect and aid us to see ourselves as others do and be impressed at what we find. It helps in protection spells against deceit, allowing you to see through the vails and masks of others.
Specifically, a single dahlia denotes good taste, a double dahlia means participation, variegated symbolises that the person is thinking of you all the time and a yellow one means that the giver is very happy you love them. Although a slightly different spelling, ‘dalia’ is a Lithuanian goddess of fate.
