Hogweed botanical White Marble jesmonite wall hanging
Hogweed botanical White Marble jesmonite wall hanging
Giant Hogweed It is crazy toxic. I don't want anyone picking the flowers to get hurt. It can burn, scar and blind you. The toxins on its leaves makes it so your body cannot protect itself from sunlight.
Foragers, be mindful that cow parsley is very similar in appearance to both hemlock and giant hogweed and Queen Anne’s lace. The first is fatal if eaten. The latter can cause severe burns to the skin by increasing photosensitivity to extreme levels. Do not pick wild cow parsley unless you are 100% sure that’s what it is, and be careful of damaging the local environment.

Hemlock’s most famous victim was the Greek philosopher Socrates, who was sentenced to death for asking philosophical and ethical questions of his students. Hemlock was commonly used in Greece for executing the condemned and Socrates was ordered to consume a drink made from it.
